DescriptionLuka Lu is the youngest and best sister of the renowned Gitanes restaurants and the almost forgotten Dolly Bell restaurant. Born in Prague, calm and wild, adorable and rebellious, Luka Lu hides inside two natures one from the italian father, adventurer and Bohemian and another from a calm and simple Bosnian mother. Lu works in a restaurant in the lesser Quarter which carries her name Luka Lu. Wicked tongues say that most people cross the Vltava river and stay in the lesser Quarter because of her untamable beauty and not because of good food and wine. Reviews:
Restaurant Review: Luka Lu
Prague Spoon, 2008-10-20 Although trying out restaurants that I otherwise might never set foot into is part of my job, eating alone isn't all that fun. That's why I occasionally do my restaurant-going companions – and myself – a favor and pick a place I know they're going to love. This week, that place was Luka Lu. When I wrote about it for a different publication some time ago, I brought my brother along to dinner and he fell in love with a certain octopus dish he tried there. So he was very happy to have an excuse to visit again.
Louka Lovely
Prague.tv, 2007-10-01 Bosnian-born restaurateur Veso Djorem, who formerly owned Gitanes, has a knack for creating a dining experience that is both romantic and quirky. Louka Lu is the latest piece of evidence.
Louka Lu
Czech Please, 2007-07-26 Louka Lu is on Újezd, and has four tables out in front. It does get a bit noisy there with all the trams going by on this busy route. But, there were big sunflowers outside that added to the good feeling on a sunny Saturday.
Southern Comfort
The Prague Post, 2007-08-22 Louka Lu is — how should I say this? — an unconventional place. Not just because there are sloppy tables nailed to the ceiling. And not because management sometimes seems more concerned with the health of potted plants stacked on the sidewalk than anything else. Both are quirky endearments. |
