History of the building U Zlaté Studně dates back all the way to the year 1528. A rumor has it that the building was a gift from the Emperor Rudolf II to the astronomer Tycho de Brahe, who apparently saw a vision of the Virgin Mary here. After that the famous astronomer made a new curbing around the well and had some of its sections gold plated. Already around the year 1900 the building had a small pub with a fascinating view of the Prague’s roofs.
After the reconstruction of its interior and service areas our restaurant opened its doors again in February of 2008.
Restaurant TERASA U ZLATÉ STUDNĚ is located on the fourth floor of the U Zlaté studně Hotel, with the view that will convince you that Prague is really the city of one hundred spires.
The restaurant's new interior is the work of Italian architects Lorenzo Carmelini and Katrin Herden, in which they have again used their typical style that consists of interesting combination of modern design with the elements of the Renaissance era. Interior of our associated hotel ARIA is proud to have their signature on its design as well.
Our restaurant has 26 seats and additional 38 seats are available on the roof terrace during the summer months. For group reservations we have 40 seats in the interior section and 60 seats on the roof terrace. After your lunch you can enjoy a walk in the gardens of the Prague Castle (during the opening hours). The direct entrance to the gardens from the restaurant terrace used to serve as a private entrance for the Emperor Rudolf II
