St. Nicholas' Church is located in Prague Old Town Square. It was built in a Baroque style between 1732-1737 by architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer.
The noteworthy elements of the church's interior include the organ and a ceiling fresco depicting the lives of saint St. Nicholas, St. Benedict and themes from the Old Testament. (painted in the years 1735-1736 by Bavarian artist Cosmas Damian Assam). The main altar of simulated marble comes from 1737.
The church was built on the site of a former Romanesque church.
