DescriptionOld Town Bridge Tower is considered one of the most beautiful Gothic structures in Europe, located on Křižovnicka Square at the Old Town end of the Charles Bridge. Is was built in the years 1370-1380 by Petr Parler along with the rest of the Charles Bridge. The tower was built not only as a fortification, but also as a victory arch. The procession for Charles IV's coronation followed a route that led under this Gothic tower. The height of the tower is 47 meters above ground and 57 meters above the Vltava River. After walking up the 138 steps to the observation platform, the visitor is greeted with a wonderful view of the Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle.
